Private Family Biking Tours in Tuscany. Curated Tuscany Experiences by Bike, designed around your family, led personally by the Owners.

Unlike our full-day San Gimignano shared tours, this Private Family Day is paced around young children starting from 3 years old, shorter riding time, more free time, and a flexible schedule built around naps, snacks, and attention spans.
San Gimignano · World-Champion Dondoli Gelato · 1.5 Hours of Easy Riding · Lunch & Free Time Inside the Walls of Monteriggioni
A private, fully-supported day in the Chianti countryside.
One family. Guided personally by Piero & Elena.
One flexible itinerary, built around your family’s pace.

If you want to spend a fabulous family day in Tuscany – Chianti area – with a mix of a bike ride, enjoy the must-visit San Gimignano with a stop at the World Champion Gelato Master Mr. Dondoli, experience the medieval vibe in Monteriggioni, all of this while getting lost in the beauty of our amazing countryside biking on safe, low-traffic paths — then this is a day for you.

Curated, for us, means nothing is left to chance: the roads, the timing of the gelato stop, the table booked in Monteriggioni, the exact bicycle waiting for your eight-year-old. Arranged in advance by Piero and Elena, the owners, who then personally lead your day.

Why Can Children Join This Tour From Age 3?

Unlike our regular Tuscany bike tours, which generally have a minimum age of 12, our Family Biking Tour is specifically designed for families traveling with younger children.
Children from age 3 can participate using age-appropriate bikes or child cycling equipment, depending on their age, size and cycling ability. We adapt the route, distance, pace and stops to the youngest riders in the family, and our support vehicle is available throughout the experience.
This makes the Family Biking Tour the best choice for families who want to enjoy cycling in Tuscany with children under 12.

YOUR DAY

8.45 AM – most convenient meeting point in Florence or collected from your villa  Chianti ( eintails a supplement ) . The bikes are already fitted to the heights you gave us.
9.45 AM – San Gimignano. We arrive while the town still belongs to the people who live in it. You walk Piazza della Cisterna beneath the towers. Piero/Elena will tell the stories about the Medieval time, providing you with a detailed map and point of intrest.
10:15 AM — Gelateria Dondoli. The stop your children will describe first when they get home. Sergio Dondoli is a Gelato World Champion. Pistacchio, Saffron and pine nuts for the adults; chocolate for everyone under twelve.
10.45AM:  1nto the countryside. A short transfer to the start of the ride, chosen to avoid every climb and every busy road. From there: quiet lanes and white gravel roads through vineyards and cypress lines. We stop constantly — for photographs, for water, for a child who wants to lead.
1:30 PM — Monteriggioni, and lunch. The ride ends in sight of fourteen towers on a hilltop: a village so intact that Dante used it as an image in the “Inferno”. Unhurried time inside the walls, and a Tuscan lunch at your own rhythm.
4:30 PM — Home again. Returned to your morning meeting point by our air-conditioned van, everyone sun-tired in the best way.

*This is our signature family itinerary and a starting point. A winery with lunch instead of Monteriggioni, a longer ride for teenagers, the best ”schiacciata” ( sandwich Tuscan way) in place of a restaurant: tell us about your family and we will redesign the day around it.

TAILOR-MADE FOR

What can we do in Tuscany as a family? Piero and Elena have been answering that question for more than ten years. The answer is a day where every member of the party finds their own reason to love it.

  • This is our dedicated family cycling experience for families with children too young for our regular 12+ bike tours.
  • Multi-generational families : grandparents, parents and children on one itinerary
  • Families with young children, from age 3, using rear seats, towing bars and small-wheel bikes
  • Pre-teens and teenagers who need action rather than another museum
  • Families with mixed fitness levels, where one member is athletic and another hasn’t cycled in years
  • Non-cycling companions, who travel in the van and join every stop
  • Two or three families travelling together, accommodated on request

Kids race each other to the top of the hill. Parents, at this pace, have time to actually look at the landscape.
