A few pics of one of the most exciting & unforgettable ways Elena & Piero have experienced so far to explore Florence on a warm August afternoon : Sailing ⛵️in the Arno River with the Barchetto 🤩at sunset! It was exciting to travel a stretch of the Arno admiring the panorama of the historic center of Florence from a privileged point of view: flowing gently on the water particularly low and calm this time of year. The visit lasted about an hour and took place along the stretch of the Arno that goes from Piazza Mentana to Ponte alla Carraia passing below Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita. Today on the San Gimignano Easy tour 👍 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🚴🚴‍♂️🚴 The absolute day outing as a Family to escape the Florence heat enjoying a breezy, fan, coasting-downhill panoramic corner of the Chianti Classico Region 🥰 Our first town visit is the picturesque Castellina in Chianti with plenty of opportunity to explore the cobbled stone streets and the castle tower of this enchanting town. 🍷🍷🍷 🧀Upon request, you can even indulge in a glass of Chianti & Vernaccia wine with Tuscan salami and pecorino cheese or a cup of gelato. These are the best ways to energize before starting to cycle! After a short introductory visit of Castellina, we begin the biking part of our easy bike tour towards San Gimignano. Our path will take us on a gorgeous, traffic-free road in Chianti. Along the road, you will be surrounded and seduced by the typical fragrances of the Mediterranean including wild rosemary and sage, pine wood, cypress, juniper and so much more. We promise a “scent”-sational experience 🚴🚴🚴! Once we come to the end of the biking portion of the tour, we put away our bikes, hop on the support van which will take you to San Gimignano, an ancient village famous for its towers, medieval atmosphere, and the much coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination. Use your free time to thoroughly visit the town and have lunch. Piero & Elena will provide a map of the village as well as the best recommendations for a delicious Tuscan lunch. Another memorable month of this season is coming to it’s end 😅 Pretty warm, colorful, sunflower-ish & so rewarding for Elena & Piero. My husband and I had a wonderful Chianti Classico bike tour. Elena was great with setting up the tour and Piero provided support and was an excellent tour guide making sure we had everything needed for a comfortable and successful ride. The highlight of our trip was Costello Di Brolio, a magnificent structure made more special by Piero’s knowledge of the history of this strategically important location in the wars between Florence and Siena, as well as during WWII. I would highly recommend taking a day to bicycle the region and see the beauty of the area in a healthy and fun way. Tarun&Monica said they love biking as a family. Anytime they visit a new place with the kids they love ❤️ to explore the area in close contact with/only guided by the locals. Elena & Piero enjoyed so much their company as curious, smart, discerning travelers in love with outdoors, Tuscany history, food & traditions. Either leisurely biking & wine tasting with the help of our top-notch Bianchi E-Bikes in the hills of the #chianticlassico region (Day 1) as well as while getting a bit of fresh breezy air coasting downhill from the peak of the mountain of #montesenario to discovery @fiesole (Day 2!) rewarded by a delicious real Tuscan lunch …..
