Adventure in Tuscany!

Every morning we roll out of Florence with small groups ready to explore the real Tuscany: a day of gentle cycling, postcard-worthy landscapes, and those unforgettable corners that never make it into the guidebooks.

More than a few curious guests have asked us: “How do you keep finding these hidden gems?”

Piero, our founder and lead guide, smiles at that question.

“For me, choosing the places to share is simple,” he says. “Each stop is tied to my own memories. Taking you there isn’t just guiding a tour—it’s like revisiting my youth.”

Memories on Two Wheels

As a teenager Piero was a restless explorer of the Tuscan countryside. Long before GPS and smartphone maps, he pedaled with nothing but a paper map and a big sense of curiosity.

  • Monteriggioni: “I first saw this tiny medieval fortress by chance in the ’80s on a bike holiday. I sat in the sun in the quiet piazza, bit into a classic Tuscan panino, sipped a glass of Chianti and thought, Now I’m truly Tuscan.

  • Colle Val d’Elsa: Discovered during one of the very first mountain-bike races in the area in the ’90s, where riders zipped through ancient alleys that felt like a living museum.

  • San Gimignano, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, and the grand Castello di Brolio: Favorite stops on his first motorbike adventures at sixteen.

  • Casole d’Elsa, Buonconvento, Siena: Found while chasing the legendary World Rally Championship on Tuscany’s gravel roads—back when Siena was more about horsepower than Palio horses in Piero’s mind!

From Maps to Memories

“These places were once my greatest adventure,” Piero recalls. “Today they feel like home, and sharing them with our guests brings that first excitement rushing back.”

That spirit of discovery shapes every Bike Florence & Tuscany small-group tour. We blend a little cycling with a lot of authentic Tuscany: iconic destinations like Siena and San Gimignano, plus hidden hamlets and vineyards only locals know.

So when Piero shouts his signature send-off—

“This is Adventure in Tuscanyyyy!”
—you’ll know he means it.

Because for us, it’s more than a bike ride.
It’s your very own Tuscan adventure—one you’ll be telling stories about for years.
